A 1:12 slope means 12 inches of ramp for every inch of rise. The bigger the second number, the gentler the climb. Gentler is always safer, so verify local building code before installing.

Read the ratio as rise to length: 1:4 means every inch of rise needs 4 inches of ramp, so it climbs three times faster than 1:12. Some manufacturers write these same two slopes as 2:12 and 3:12, which are identical inclines in unreduced form.

Use the longest ramp your space allows and follow your equipment’s owner manual. A rise over 30 inches needs a landing or platform.

A 2-3/4" raised side barrier runs along each edge to help keep a wheelchair, mobility scooter, or stroller safely on the ramp — making it an ideal choice for scooter and van access. Available in three lengths to match the rise you need to climb, it works equally well for steps up to your home or entering the side of a minivan, and the longer the ramp, the gentler the grade for a smoother, safer transition.

Constructed from laminated fiberglass over a rigid foam core, the DECPAC is strong, weather resistant, and quiet — it won't rattle the way a metal ramp can in the back of a vehicle. It folds compactly so it fits in a van and slides easily under a seat, then unfolds in seconds with no assembly or installation required. Built-in carry handles and a hook-and-loop strap that secures the ramp when folded make it easy to transport and store, and every size supports up to 660 pounds.
