Cargo Equipment Corp Grade 70 Transport Chain

Cargo Equipment Corp Grade 70 transport chain comes two ways: as a finished length with a clevis grab hook on each end, or as bulk chain that ships in a barrel. There are three chain sizes, 5/16 in, 3/8 in and 1/2 in, and the rating depends on the size.

The 5/16 in chain has a 4,700 lb working load limit and a 14,100 lb break strength. It comes with grab hooks in 16 ft, 20 ft or 25 ft, or as a 400 ft barrel. The 3/8 in chain is rated at 6,600 lb with a 19,800 lb break strength, in the same three hooked lengths plus 200 ft and 400 ft barrels. The 1/2 in chain carries an 11,300 lb working load limit and a 45,200 lb break strength, as a 20 ft length with grab hooks or a 200 ft barrel.

Cargo Equipment Corp describes its transport chain as standard link chain in heat treated, high-strength, low-alloy carbon steel, plated in a yellow zinc chromate finish and proof tested. By its figures, Grade 70 is rated roughly 20% above High Test Grade 43 chain.
