Cargo Equipment Corp Ratchet Chain Binder

The Cargo Equipment Corp ratchet chain binder tightens transport chain by ratcheting a turnbuckle. It comes in two sizes: 5/16 in to 3/8 in at a 6,600 lb working load limit, and 3/8 in to 1/2 in HD at 9,200 lb. Both sizes draw in up to 10 in of load chain and can be bought as one binder or as a box of 5.

Cargo Equipment Corp points out that standard binders are rated at 5,400 lb, so its 6,600 lb binder can tension 5/16 in or 3/8 in Grade 70 chain without dropping below what the 3/8 in chain is rated for. It describes the 9,200 lb HD binder as a good match for 3/8 in Grade 70 transport chain. In the boxed versions, the working load limit applies to each binder, not to the box.

A long handle gives leverage, and the binder is made of C1045 carbon steel, quenched and tempered, with a powder coated finish. Cargo Equipment Corp states that its chain binders meet DOT and FMCSA regulations, exceed the WSTDA T-6 load binder standard, and are stamped with size, grade and working load limit.
