Enter your step or porch height and we'll recommend the right ramp length.
Measure from the ground to the top of the highest step or landing.
Why slope matters: ADA recommends 1:12 slope for independent wheelchair use (1 inch of rise per 12 inches of ramp). 2:12 is only appropriate with a caregiver; 3:12 only for unoccupied transport. Always verify local building code before installing.
The PVI Multifold Ramp is a portable, folding aluminum wheelchair ramp that carries like a suitcase and sets up in seconds. It folds in half lengthwise and separates into two pieces widthwise, so two people can each carry one panel — or one person can carry the full ramp by its center handle. When you arrive, the panels lock back together with a simple pin rotation (no tools required) and you're ready to roll.
This is the ramp to choose when you need real portability without giving up length. A full 8-foot Multifold folds down to about 51" × 16" × 9½" and fits in the trunk of most cars, making it a strong fit for travel, doctor's appointments, family visits, RV access, and any situation where a permanent ramp isn't an option.
Available in four lengths (5', 6', 7', and 8') and two width configurations:
All variants share the same 800 lb maximum capacity, the same patented pinch-free hinge, and the same anti-slip high-traction surface running the full length of the ramp.
PVI recommends a maximum 2:12 slope for occupied wheelchair and scooter use — that's 1 foot of ramp for every 2 inches of vertical rise. As a quick reference:
For ADA-compliant 1:12 slope (recommended for unassisted use), you'll need 1 foot of ramp per inch of rise — so an 8' ramp covers an 8" rise at ADA grade.
