Enter your step or porch height and we'll recommend the right ramp length.
Measure from the ground to the top of the highest step or landing.
Why slope matters: ADA recommends 1:12 slope for independent wheelchair use (1 inch of rise per 12 inches of ramp). 2:12 is only appropriate with a caregiver; 3:12 only for unoccupied transport. Always verify local building code before installing.
The PVI Singlefold Ramp is the lightest and most compact folding wheelchair ramp PVI makes. It folds in half once down the middle and carries like a suitcase, slimming down to just under 5 inches thick at any length. That makes it the ramp that fits behind a car seat, in a closet, in an overhead bin, or in the bottom of a hall cabinet — places where bulkier folding ramps simply don't go.
The 2' model weighs only 10 lbs. The full 6' model is just 33 lbs. Across the lineup, the Singlefold is easier to lift, easier to carry, and easier to stash than any other PVI portable ramp — and that ease of handling is the reason to choose it.
This is the right ramp for short rises and frequent use: a single porch step, a curb, an interior threshold between rooms, RV access, low decks, and any situation where you'll be setting up and breaking down the ramp regularly. It's also a popular choice for caregivers, home health professionals, and anyone who needs to keep a ramp in their vehicle for visits to multiple locations.
Available in five lengths from 2' to 6', all 30" wide and rated to 800 lbs.
The shortest model (SFW230, 2' × 30") does not include a carry handle. At 2 feet long and 10 lbs, the ramp is small enough to grab and carry directly — but if you specifically need a handle, the 3' model (16 lbs) is the smallest option that includes one.
PVI recommends a maximum 2:12 slope for occupied wheelchair and scooter use — that's 1 foot of ramp for every 2 inches of vertical rise.
For ADA-compliant 1:12 slope (recommended for unassisted use), you'll need 1 foot of ramp per inch of rise — so a 6' Singlefold covers a 6" rise at ADA grade.
If your rise is greater than 12", look at the PVI Multifold (5'–8' lengths) instead. The Multifold is heavier and bulkier folded, but provides the longer run needed for taller rises.
Both ramps fold and carry like suitcases. The differences come down to size, weight, and rise capacity:
Singlefold is the right choice for shorter rises (up to 12") and maximum portability. It folds slimmer (under 5" thick) and weighs less (10–33 lbs). Easier to handle, easier to store, easier to travel with.
Multifold is the right choice for taller rises (up to 16") and situations where two people will share carrying duties. It separates into two pieces for two-person carry and supports rises beyond what the Singlefold can handle safely.
If your rise is 12" or less and you'll be the only person handling the ramp, choose the Singlefold. If your rise is more than 12" or you need wider 36" bariatric capacity, choose the Multifold.
